I was merely speculating about the bright object seen by the SOHO imager but now, NOAA has issued a press release about this and are calling it a comet:

If it was a comet, it would have passed through the field of view a single time and would not re-appear.  They are now claiming that we should expect the "comet" to make repeated appearances.  This isn't consistent with anything I know about the orbital dynamics of comets.  Comets are things which pass through a given area once every few decades or perhaps even once every thousand years.  This is more like something orbiting the Earth as seen from the ground.  They claim that the images are generated by a satellite 1.5 million kilometers up but I am beginning to doubt this.  I suppose it's also possible that some craft which they want to conceal is being covered up using a special-effect which is being layered over the publicly released images, although I doubt we'd see the sensor overload image artifacts if that were the case.

This is many times brighter than the planet Venus and yet, I took the liberty of looking up at the night sky and saw no comet or other bright light source.

Something I can't believe I didn't notice sooner are all of the shooting stars captured in those images.  There's no possibility these images were generated by a satellite 1.5 million kilometers in altitude.  These images are generated by a telescope on the ground.  Why is NOAA lying about from whence the images are generated?  If the images were generated by a satellite at such an extreme distance, there'd be no possibility of their capturing some satellite with an even higher orbit (at 1.5 million km it's a lagrange and not an orbit,) however, these sorts of images of the Sun have been around for quite a while and the images have traditionally been generated by telescopes on the ground.  Notice the large gaps between images of hours which are in their animation.  They have to switch between ground-based telescopes to get round-the-clock images of the Sun, but there are gaps.  This claim that the images are satellite-generated may be a consequence of spy satellites being launched under the auspices of purely scientific projects, but it doesn't explain the ultra-luminous output of the unidentified object.

The press release raises more questions than it answers.

I am going to put out an advisory concerning solar flare activity.  We're seeing both collocated ares of increased surface activity and coronal holes as well as decreased earthquake activity over the last 24 hours.  Currently working on a paper explaining that this collocation is important for forecasting flares.  Generally speaking, when we come down from the solar maximum, as we are now, there are fewer flares, but they are still possible.  As activity draws down, the greater risk, generally speaking, becomes earthquakes, with major quakes being most likely around 2027 in the context of the solar cycle.

The flares are of lesser practical relevance due to improved shielding of electronics, but we have not seen truly intense flare activity since the advent of modern electronics.  In 2012, a CME was projected by the Sun and NASA was having difficulty determining its trajectory.  The CME missed the Earth but was sufficiently intense that it would have, at minimum, fried all of the electronics we had and could have possibly introduced harmful levels of radiation and even removed part of our atmosphere.  Not wanting to create a panic, in 2012, NASA withheld the information and the flare passed by the Earth harmlessly.  It was six months before the information concerning the true intensity of the CME was made available and the story was kept fairly quiet.

Началась вчера целый день и продолжилась сегодня пол дня очень продолжительная магнитная буря G1-G3.
На меня пока влияния нет.
Может витамины влияют на метео чувствительность?
