It is interesting to note how countries which are traditionally at odds are at least temporarily aligning.  India has gotten closer to China in terms of economic ties.  The Muslim countries are cooperating to a much greater degree than previously thought possible, although countries like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE remain Western-aligned.  All of Southeast Asia has essentially fallen to China and has no military to speak of with which to resist China's influence.  As I'm sure you're painfully aware, Finland has cast aside decades of neutrality in order to take a side.  This sort of solidification is the thing which is the portent of war.  When there's going to be a fire, they start passing out buckets of water and telling people where they want them to go to best fight the fire.  When they start handing out guns and begin to give instructions as to what to do when either Russia or China show up, which they're doing and so-called liberal Democracies begin preparing to conscript their young men (European countries are already doing this but the U.S. lags behind on this,) it is a good indicator that war is coming.  It is the people who work in the financial sector who receive perhaps the greatest amount of warning about these upcoming events.  Now, even governments are fully aware of what preparations are needed and even our sluggish legislature is beginning to make preparations.  The decoupling process with China, for example, is three years into what will be a ten-year process, provided that active hostilities do not transpire.

Short term: Iran
Medium term: Ukraine
Long term: China

China will be the tough one for us to take down but that must be the end game for anyone attempting to preserve the current power structure.

As I'm sure you're painfully aware, Finland has cast aside decades of neutrality in order to take a side. 

Ранее Финляндия, как и Польша были частью России.
Этот шаг Финляндии очень большая ошибка.
И мы очень рады этому.
Все благополучие Финляндии десятилетия строились на поставках древесного сырья из России.
На этом наши чиновники очень набивали себе карманы.
И это вступление в НАТО все меняет. И теперь РФ не будет поставлять сырье во вражескую страну.
Наши коррупционеры не получат взятки.
А мы народ получим финансирование для переработки сырья в своей стране.
Мебельные фабрики, переработка целлюлозы и тд...

I did not realize the extent to which China also destroyed Russian industries just as they did in America.  Yes, it was Kissinger who did this in 1972.  U.S. Steel declared chapter 11 bankruptcy last year and is desperately looking for a multinational to buy them out.  It's the last vestige of American manufacturing and ceased to have economic relevance long ago.  From the late 1980s until about 2016, it was impossible to buy an American-made sneaker.  New Balance brought back the American-made sneaker but charges double-price for these sneakers.  I pay the extra money because it is a better-quality product, although our own domestic products in other areas are of inferior quality.

Decoupling is now a reality which means that the Kissinger people have reversed course and are now going to attempt to marginalize China, but I have to wonder if this is even possible given the level of decay in the United States.  The way we gained advantage in the 1940s was by bombing Tokyo and Dresden so that we could have a world manufacturing monopoly.  We will have to level China to do the same thing today and will have to prepare young people for work in manufacturing.  The old saying was, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going."  That kind of spirit simply does not exist anymore in the United States.
