I generally agree that self-improvement is superior to using technology as a crutch. Humanity long ago surpassed the point where an average person would be able to reconstruct extant technologies in the event of a major disaster which resulted in a kind of amnesia. The more we become dependent upon technology, the more disruptive the loss of technology becomes. It has always been the most intelligent one tenth of one percent pushing us along. What is perhaps most regrettable is that each time there is a revolutionary new technology, it is not used to liberate those in the working class from labor (as is frequently promised by those in power) but is instead commodified and available only to the wealthy.
The first true "flying cars" will be available only to the rich and will do little change the everyday lives of people of average means. Just think what people would be willing to pay for the photo-magnetically propelled units. Easily $1 Million American for each car.
A truly sentient machine would be incredibly dangerous as it might not only take over the entire Internet from within a computer, but it might provide instructions to humans to build machines which are harmful in order to attempt to eliminate humanity. A machine mind looks at a philosophical question such as, "How do we achieve world peace?" and proves solutions such as, "We achieve it by eliminating humans because humans are the cause of all wars." The machine will reason that humans will not willingly eliminate themselves and so the machine tricks it into producing, for example, a toxic vaccine which takes a generation or two for the lethal effects to be seen. Any machine mind would be a sociopath without empathy.
As you can see, my government does not care if I share concepts for advance computers or instructions on how to build atomic weapons which neither require uranium or plutonium. If we live in a nanny state where the nanny is asleep on the job, hooked on drugs and isn't aware that she's a nanny. I literally sent an E-Mail about this type of computer and other types of novel computers (without spilling the details) to a laboratory which is part of the National Security Agency.
https://www.lps.umd.edu/ I merely asked if they might be open to idea submissions and where I might send my ideas. They never responded. In the past week alone I've contacted about 500 graduate and undergraduate researchers and physics students in my country (lots of work) and inquired as to whether they might be interested in having a look at my 382 publications. None responded. Not one. All assumed that it was a prank.
